INTERVIEW: RENNY HARLIN (Director, THE MISFITS) For many of us, Renny Harlin is the Hollywood blockbuster filmmaker of the 1990s. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Die Hard 2, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Deep Blue Sea and, yes, even Cutthroat Island - his films were grand spectacles, filled with humour, emotion and a vivid eye for action. He’s become a truly international director, making crowd pleasing entertainment in his homeland of Finland, as well as Hong Kong, mainland China and, with his latest - the action/comedy. The Misfits - the stunning United Arab Emirates. From Bulgaria where he’s currently shooting, Renny Harlin joined SCREEN WATCHING to talk about his past, present and ambitions for the future...
